1:48 Su-15 TM Flagon-F EXPERT kabuki masks

Sukhoi Su-15TM Flagon-F - Expert kabuki masks 1:48 (New Ware)

This is NOT a model but a set of self-adhesive masking masks from New Ware for a plastic kit of the Soviet fighter aircraft Sukhoi Su-15TM Flagon-F in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from Japanese washi (kabuki) masking paper, which yields readily to the shape and leaves a sharp boundary of color. The Expert version is the most extensive set: the glazing including the seals and masks for the inner side, the exterior and position lights and the wheels.

The real subject

The Su-15 was a Soviet twin-engined supersonic interceptor of the air defense forces, in service from the 1960s to the 1980s. The TM version (Flagon-F in the NATO reporting system) had a lengthened nose with a modified radar and was one of the later production forms of this delta-winged aircraft.

Use

• Application to the cockpit glazing before the frames are sprayed
• Masking of the wheels and other surfaces according to the enclosed instructions
• Sharp boundaries of color with nothing seeping under the mask
• The paper yields readily to the shape and lifts off easily once the paint is dry

Who it is for

For modelers building the Su-15TM in 1:48 scale who want cleanly sprayed cockpit frames, lights and wheels without slow masking with tape. The Expert version will be appreciated above all by advanced builders.

A supplementary set of masks, not a model on its own. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
