A photo-etched set of accessories for a model of the two-seat Su-30SM combat aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Su-30SM is a two-seat multi-role combat aircraft derived from the Su-27 series. The crew consists of two men sitting one behind the other, which on the real machine divides the work between flying and operating the equipment, and on a model means twice the instruments and seats of a single-seat version. The type has canards ahead of the wing and exhaust nozzles with thrust vectoring, so the rear and the forward fuselage look different from the older machines of the same family too.
According to the name these are parts etched from thin metal sheet. Sheet can be made as thin as the scale would call for in reality, which is not possible in injection-molded plastic; on a model it shows on flat panels, grilles, belts and small levers, which in plastic are necessarily more massive than they ought to be. Which parts the set holds and where on the model they belong are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard support and level the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the fold in the scored line over a straight edge or in a bending tool, always in one movement; bending back and forth will crack the sheet. You will join metal with super glue, and larger areas with epoxy; cement for polystyrene does not hold on it. Lay the small parts out on a light surface and work with fine-tipped tweezers, as a part lost on a carpet will never be found. Before painting, wash the sheet, degrease it and back it with a primer coat, or the paint will not hold on smooth metal.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
