This is not a kit but a set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk. V fighter in 1:48. The designation TFace means that the sheet holds masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing. The canopy frames can therefore be painted from both sides: outside in the camouflage shade of the aircraft, inside in the interior color.
The inner side of the canopy frames tends to be neglected on finished models, yet it is clearly visible when the canopy is open. Double-sided masking lets you spray the inside of the frame in the interior color and only then the outside in the camouflage shade. The result looks more realistic than one-sided masking, and the laborious cutting of masks by hand falls away. Masks for the wheels are usually part of the sheet as well.
Degrease the clear parts before applying the masks and hold them only by the edges. Lift a mask off with tweezers, lay it on dry and press the edges down carefully so that the paint does not creep under. Apply and spray the inner masks first, then let them dry and only afterwards mask the outside. Spray in thin layers; lift the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, not after a full cure. Small overspills can be corrected with a brush with its tip dipped in remover.
The set holds painting masks only. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
