This Art Scale masking set is intended for a model of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut to the shape of the clear parts of the Eduard kit, so there is no need to measure and trim tape directly on the model and the framing comes out with a sharp edge. The kit is not included in the package.
The double-sided version: the set deals with the framing from the outer and the inner side of the glazing. On a bubble canopy, under which the whole cockpit interior is visible, that shows in the result most of all.
The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was a British single-seat fighter of the closing stage of the Second World War, developed from the Typhoon with a new wing of thinner section. It was powered by a Napier Sabre H-24 engine and the gun armament was concentrated in the wing. At low altitude the aircraft was among the fastest machines of its day and it was used both in air combat and against ground and airborne targets.
Wash, degrease and dry the clear part. Carry the masks with tweezers, seat them and press from the center toward the edges. On the curved windscreen it pays to trim the mask along the outline with a scalpel so that it seats in the transition into the flat surface as well. Spray in thin coats, the interior shade first and, once dry, the exterior camouflage. Lift the masks shortly after the paint has dried, with tweezers and an angled pull across the edge of the frame.
It is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
