This is a supplementary set of metal tracks, not a model of the vehicle. It holds individual links cast in white metal, which are joined with wire pins into a fully workable track. It replaces the plastic tracks supplied in the base kit of the German heavy tank Tiger II and the tank destroyer Jagdtiger in 1:48 scale.
The Tiger II, nicknamed Königstiger, was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with massive armor and an 88 mm gun. The Jagdtiger was built on its chassis, a heavily armored tank destroyer with a 128 mm gun, one of the heaviest series-built fighting vehicles of the war. Both vehicles share the same type of track.
In 1:48 scale the links are smaller — work calmly and in a well-lit space. Clean off the casting remains, lay the links out one behind another and thread through the wire pins. The track can be left workable, or tacked in place with super glue. Spraying a primer for metal improves the grip of the paint, and the weight of the links creates a realistic sag.
A supplementary set — it does not hold the model of the vehicle, glue or paints. Meant as an upgrade to a separately bought kit.
