Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut painting masks for a model of the Tomahawk Mk. II fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard of Obrnice near Most. The masks serve for quick, clean masking of the canopy glazing, the wheels and other areas while painting. It is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model.
Tomahawk was the British designation for the early versions of the American Curtiss P-40 fighter. The machines served in North Africa and on other battlefields of the early Second World War and were typically decorated with shark mouths on the nose. The Mk. II belongs to the early production batches.
The individual masks are transferred to the glazing with tweezers and follow the shape of the canopy frames. Once they are in place the area is sprayed with paint, and the masks are lifted off after it dries, giving a sharp edge without any hand-lining. Round masks for the wheels are usually included as well, for a clean separation of the tire from the hub.
This is a set of masks, not a complete model. The kit and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
