LööKplus is the extended form of Eduard's LööK line. The basis remains a three-dimensional, already painted instrument panel, to which the package adds further accessories usually sold separately. The advantage is practical: instead of assembling the equipment box by box, you get a complete set for a single model. This item aims at the kit of the Panavia Tornado IDS in 1:48 scale and is not a model in itself.
The Panavia Tornado IDS is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing that came out of a joint European program by the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. The abbreviation IDS marks the strike and interdiction version intended for attacks on ground targets in any weather, typically at low level and high speed. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapons systems operator seated behind him, so the cockpit is long and the interior is clearly visible on the model, especially if it is built with the canopies open.
Do not overpaint the painted parts; just seat them and protect them from fingerprints. The original plastic relief in the kit usually has to be sanded smooth so that the new part seats without a gap. Bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge and cut the resin ones off their casting blocks, leveling the cut. Wash the resin in soapy water before painting. The cockpits of modern combat aircraft are mostly dark gray, so you will bring out the detail with light drybrushing of the edges rather than with a wash. Leave the display faces glossy and take the shine off the surroundings; the contrast does the work for you.
This is an add-on set, not a kit. The base aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
