Photo-etched steel seat belts 1:48 U-2 / Po-2 are a metal detail accessory for a faithful rendering of the seat belts in the cockpit of a Soviet biplane model. It is not a kit but color-printed steel photo-etch from the Czech maker Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains seat belts made using color steel photo-etch technology (STEEL). It is not a kit but an aftermarket accessory for a model of the Polikarpov Po-2 (U-2) biplane in 1:48 scale. With the steel belts you replace coarse plastic or missing belts and raise the realism of the open cockpits. Steel photo-etch is springier than brass and holds folds better, and the color printing faithfully imitates the webbing and the fittings, so the parts need no painting. It is made by the Czech firm Eduard.
The Polikarpov Po-2 (the U-2 until 1944) was a Soviet biplane of mixed construction from the end of the 1920s. It served as a trainer, a liaison machine and an agricultural aircraft, and in the Second World War it became famous as a light night bomber flown by all-female regiments as well. It is among the most widespread aircraft in history.
Separate the belts with a sharp knife and shape them into natural folds with tweezers. Bond them with a small drop of super glue or with an adhesive for photo-etch. Protect the color printing from being sanded and work over a light surface so that the small parts do not disappear.
This is a detail accessory, not an aircraft model. The base kit and glue are not included in the package.
