A color photo-etched set of seat belts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, meant for building the model of the Supermarine Walrus Mk.I amphibian in 1:48 scale. The parts from the STEEL line are pre-printed with a realistic steel effect and are self-adhesive, so they take the place of flat plastic belts in the cockpit and give the seats a true-to-life look. It is not a model of the aircraft but a detail accessory; the base kit has to be obtained separately.
The Supermarine Walrus was a British single-engined amphibious biplane with a pusher propeller. It served from the 1930s as a shipboard reconnaissance machine and became famous above all in search and rescue work, picking downed airmen out of the sea. Its enclosed cabin makes the belts a clearly visible detail of the interior.
Separate the belts carefully from the fret and clean up the edge as needed. The self-adhesive parts hold on their own; for a permanent joint you can add a small drop of super glue. The belts benefit from gentle shaping with tweezers so that they look as though they hang loosely over the seat.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
