Quinta Studio 1:48 Yak-1 early production, interior 3D decals in the advanced skill variant is a detail accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model. It holds three-dimensional, pre-colored decals of the pilot's station.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Quinta Studio is not a kit and not a photo-etched sheet. These are so-called 3D decals: elements printed in three-dimensional relief on a backing decal paper, which after a short soak in lukewarm water slide straight onto the parts of the pilot's station of a plastic kit of the Soviet Yak-1 fighter in its early production form, 1:48 scale. The advanced skill designation in the name refers to the more demanding, more intricate version of the line; the exact extent of the sheet compared with the base variant is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
A classic photo-etched interior is a flat metal part that has to be bent, bonded with super glue and above all painted and varnished. With three-dimensional decals the painting falls away entirely - the elements are printed straight in color, including the shading of the dials and the sheen of the instrument glasses. The relief moreover holds a real thickness, so levers, panels and padding do not look like a flat print but like raised detail. The elements have no adhesive layer of their own: they are transferred with water and hold best on a layer of gloss coat, for example Future/Klear or Tamiya X-22.
First remove the grease from the surfaces of the kit on which the relief will sit and go over them with a gloss coat. The original molded detail on the plastic is usually better sanded flat, otherwise the element will not seat. Cut the part out with a sharp scalpel, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place; while there is still water under it the position can be corrected. Blot the excess water away and press the element down with a soft wooden stick, not with your fingernail. On intricate surfaces a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Work only after the basic spraying of the cockpit is finished, that is as the last step before the fuselage is closed.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
