This set from the brand Model Maker in 1:48 scale holds, according to the name, decals and masking templates to go with them for the Yak-18 aircraft with the registration SP-YYY. The combination of decals and masks is exactly what sets this variant apart from the sheets of the same subject in other scales. It is an accessory for a built model, not a kit.
The Yak-18 is a Soviet two-seat trainer with a piston radial engine that became the basic training aircraft in a number of countries and lasted in civil use long after its military service ended. Registrations beginning with the letters SP belong to Polish civil machines.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish. Soak the motif in lukewarm water, slide it into place once it has released from the paper, blot the surplus water away and use a softener over edges and lines. Once dry, overcoat the model, usually in gloss or semi-matte on civil machines. Stick the masks onto the clear cockpit part only after polishing and before spraying. Thanks to the pre-cut shape there is no laborious cutting of tape with a knife. They are taken off carefully with tweezers while the paint is still fresh.
