A set of self-adhesive templates for masking the cockpit frames in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model. According to the name it holds masks for the outside and the inside of the glazing, which pays off on a tandem cockpit with a long canopy: the frames are clearly visible from both sides, and covering an area that large by hand would take more time than the build itself.
The Yakovlev Yak-130 is a modern twin-engine jet trainer with a tandem cockpit layout, used for the advanced training of combat pilots and in a light combat role. Its characteristic features are the stepped-up rear seat for the instructor and a long glazed canopy with several frames. A digital flight control system allows the flying qualities of various types to be imitated, which is the main reason for its introduction into training.
Wash the transparent parts first in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, so that the film holds. Carry the masks over with tweezers or the point of a scalpel, lay them on and press them down with a soft tool from the center toward the edges. On the longer straight frames, check against the light whether the mask is lifting anywhere. Spray at a right angle and in two passes: if paint does creep under, it shows above all when a heavy wet coat is applied at an angle.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
