The set 1:48 Yakovlev Yak-9D LööKplus is an Eduard accessory for a model of the fighter aircraft Yak-9D in 1:48 scale. The LööKplus line joins a pre-painted instrument panel produced by printing with further elements of the interior in the form of 3D decals. It is not a kit: the set contains accessories for the cockpit, and the model of the aircraft has to be obtained separately. The particular extent of the package differs between the individual editions; check it on the packaging.
The Yak-9 belonged among the most widespread Soviet fighter aircraft of the Second World War. The Yak-9D version was the long-range variant with an enlarged fuel load in the wing, thanks to which the machine managed substantially longer flights, albeit at the cost of a higher weight. The cockpit was simple and clear, with a small number of instruments, so even a small refinement of the instrument panel is clearly visible on a finished model, especially when the build is displayed with the canopy slid back.
You no longer have to paint the pre-painted parts; protect them against fingerprints and against thinners. First sand the surface where the details are seated down level and degrease it. The 3D decals are not self-adhesive: moisten the backing paper, release the element with tweezers or with a wooden stick with a moistened tip and fix it with PVA glue, pressing it down with a soft tool. Finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage, as afterwards it is inaccessible. Unify the rest of the interior with a matching shade of Soviet interior paint and add a fine wash into the recesses, so that the instruments are not lost.
The set is supplied as an accessory to a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
