1:48 B-24D Liberator EXPERT kabuki masks is a masking set from New Ware for a model of this American heavy bomber at the EXPERT grade.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks from the Czech maker New Ware intended for a model of the B-24D bomber in 1:48 scale. The word kabuki in the name refers to the type of carrier the maker uses for its masks, and the word EXPERT is its own designation of the grade of the set. With New Ware it is a wider range than the BASIC grade of the same type; the exact contents are not stated here.
The B-24D was an American heavy bomber with a long Davis wing and a large area of glazing: a glazed nose, a cockpit, waist positions and turrets. Cutting frames out by hand on that many surfaces takes more time than the build itself, and a single slip of the knife means a scratched clear part. A pre-cut mask turns that step into sticking down and peeling off.
Degrease the clear parts first and let them dry completely. Lay the masks on one at a time and press the edges down with a blunt tool so that paint cannot flow underneath. Spray in thin coats and rather in two passes; a heavy build-up under the edge creates a step. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dry, not after it has fully hardened, when the finish may tear away.
