A masking set for painting the model of the Kamov Ka-29 shipborne helicopter. The masks are cut to shape and self-adhesive, so they only need seating in place and pressing down. According to the name the set is cut for the Hobby Boss and ARK Models kits in 1:72 scale.
The Ka-29 is an attack and assault transport helicopter from the Kamov design bureau, derived from the shipborne Ka-27. In the NATO code it carries the designation Helix-B. Two coaxial contra-rotating main rotors are characteristic of this whole family, thanks to which the machine needs no tail rotor. The Ka-29 serves to carry an assault party and to support it from the deck of a ship.
The masks are stuck onto the places that are to stay free of paint, that is before spraying and not after it. Wash and degrease the surface first, otherwise the edges will lift and the paint will run under. Transfer the items with tweezers and press the edge of the mask down with a toothpick or a wooden stick. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a heavy coat will create a ridge at the edge of the mask. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off, and pull it at a sharp angle along the surface, not perpendicularly upward.
The package contains only the masks. The helicopter kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
