The decal set Italian Gustavs over Rome: Bf-109 G in Regia Aeronautica (Part 4) in 1:48 from Exotic Decals. The fourth part of the range, this time with machines from around the capital.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet follows on from the Sicilian parts of the same range and moves the attention to the defense of Rome by Bf 109 G fighters. The Exotic Decals brand prepared it for kits in 1:48 scale and offers it as a separate accessory for a plastic model.
The summer and fall of 1943 were exceptionally tense for the Regia Aeronautica. Formations of Allied bombers reached as far as central Italy, and fighter groups re-equipped with German machines took off against them from airfields around the metropolis. The camouflage of that time mixes German workshop practice with Italian markings, so the resulting model looks unmistakable.
Cut the motifs out close to the edge of the printing, so that as little clear border as possible is left. Warm water releases the film faster than cold, and before you put the sheet on, make sure that the varnish under it is perfectly cured.
Printed paper is sensitive to long soaking, so take the motif out of the water as soon as it begins to move. Wipe the remains of the adhesive off after seating with a damp cloth, as otherwise they will form glossy traces after drying that remain apparent even under a matte coat.
