The Mirage F.1 is a French fighter aircraft that differs from the older French machines in a swept wing with a classic tail surface instead of a delta arrangement. The F.1B version is two-seat, with the seats in tandem, and serves above all for training pilots. The two-seat cockpit also explains why there are two pilot figures in the set; the third figure is a mechanic, that is ground personnel, without whom an aircraft cannot do.
In the package there are three figures in 1:72 scale: a pair of French pilots and one mechanic. The set is intended for the Mirage F.1B kit from Special Hobby, so the size and the posture of the figures take this kit and its cockpit into account. How many parts the individual figures are made up of and how they are fitted together is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down carefully, so that you do not wipe away the engraving of the folds of the clothing. Before painting, wash and degrease the figures, as paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Paint the face and the hands before you seat the figure in the cockpit, because later you will not reach them with a brush. Choose the kind of glue according to the material of the figures and the particular procedure according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is for modelers who want to see the crew and the ground staff with a finished aircraft. The figures give the model scale and enliven even a simple display case or a small scene on an airfield apron. The contents of the package are the figures alone; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
