A set of painting masks from Art Scale (ASK) intended for the plastic kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 fighter from Hobby Boss in 1:48 scale. It is a so-called express fit mask, so the parts are cut exactly from Japanese kabuki film and ready to stick straight down with no trimming by hand. The double-sided form means that the set makes it possible to mask the glazing frames from the outer and the inner side. The parts carry printed numbers for easy placing.

The real subject

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most widespread German fighter of the Second World War. The Bf 109E-3 version, belonging to the early Emil series, was marked by the angular shapes of the canopy and by a Daimler-Benz engine. It was in action from the very start of the war.

Use

• Stick the outer and the inner parts onto the corresponding sides of the frames.
• Paint over them with the interior and exterior shades with a brush or an airbrush.
• The pre-cut parts give sharp edges with no creeping.
• Once dry, remove the masks carefully.
