A set of tow cables for a model of the Soviet T-34/76 medium tank in 1:35 scale. It replaces the parts from a plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The T-34 with the 76 mm gun is among the best-known tanks of the Second World War. It was made famous by its sloped armor, by the wide tracks that carried the vehicle even in mud and snow, and by the simplicity thanks to which it could be built in tens of thousands. A tow cable was part of its basic equipment just as naturally as the tools on the fenders. It was carried fixed to the hull and came into use every time the vehicle got stuck or a damaged vehicle had to be pulled out of range.
This is a replacement for the tow cables from a plastic kit in 1:35 scale. A plastic cable molded in one piece is recognizable on a finished model at first glance, because it never lies against the surface the way a real cable would.
Remove the original cables from the kit carefully, so that the attachment eyes and the tools around them stay intact on the hull. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, then wash and degrease the parts and choose the glue according to their material. A steel cable suits a dark metallic shade complemented by a hint of rust in the places where the cable rubs against the hull. Check the routing of the cable against period photographs of the vehicle you are building before you glue it; on a model it is one of the details that draw the eye most.
For modelers who build the T-34 in 1:35 scale and want to replace the plastic cables with a more convincing solution. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
