This set from Exotic Decals brings the markings of a long-range Focke-Wulf fighter-bomber which, according to the name, was tested by the US Navy. It is a decal sheet on its own for a model that the builder puts together from a kit in 1:48 scale.
The G version came about as a fighter-bomber with extended range. To that end the designers lightened the armament and added pylons for drop tanks under the wing, so the aircraft carried its load considerably further than the ordinary fighter rendition. The nickname Butcherbird went with the whole Focke-Wulf family. Examples that fell into Allied hands undamaged were given foreign national insignia and conspicuous additions meant to prevent them being mistaken for the enemy over friendly territory.
Level the areas under the decals with a gloss coat and smooth any unevenness with fine abrasive paper. Cut the sheet motif by motif, use lukewarm water and let the paper stand until the motif begins to move freely. Place larger pieces in one go and press the excess water out with a soft cloth from the middle to the edges, so that no bubble is left under the film.
