A turned barrel for the Italian 47 mm gun for the M13/40 and M14/41 tanks, scale 1:72 replaces the plastic part with an accurate metal profile.
Responsibility details are not available.
This replacement barrel from the Polish brand MASTER is intended for the Italian M13/40 and M14/41 tanks in 1:72 scale. It is a precisely machined part with a regular circular section and an open muzzle, which on a split plastic barrel is achieved only with great effort.
The designation 47/32 gives the caliber of forty-seven millimeters and the barrel length in multiples of the caliber. The weapon derived from an Austrian design built in Italy under license; it proved itself as an anti-tank and a support weapon, and besides the field carriage the Italians built it into the turrets of their medium tanks. The M13/40 and its improved counterpart the M14/41 made up the main armored force of the Italian units in North Africa, so both subjects are well known among modelers.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the mantlet as possible and carefully widen the opening with a pin vise until the metal part goes all the way in. Do it gradually, so that the clearance is not needlessly large. Glue the metal with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally a thicker one, because it fills the gap better. Before painting, free the part of grease and spray a thin coat of primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth metal. Once dry, check whether the barrel points straight; in small scales a deviation shows at once.
