1:72 Operation High Jump 1946 is a set of waterslide decals from DP Casper with markings for the aircraft and helicopters used on the American Antarctic expedition of 1946–1947.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains waterslide (wet) decals in 1:72 scale devoted to the American Antarctic expedition Operation High Jump. The decals bring the markings and national insignia of the machines that took part in the expedition and make it possible to model a faithful and atmospheric subject of polar flying.
Operation High Jump was a large naval expedition to Antarctica at the turn of 1946 and 1947. A range of transport, patrol and carrier-borne aircraft took part in it, and helicopters as well, often given striking markings for good visibility in an icy landscape. The set offers fuselage and wing markings for building particular machines; the exact make-up of the schemes is given in the instructions supplied.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish, which prevents the silvering effect under the film. Cut the motif out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds, slide it off the backing into place and blot the excess water away. A decal softener and setting solution help; once dry, overcoat with clear varnish to the degree of sheen you want.
This is a set of decals, not a kit. The model itself, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
