1:72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.II over the Far East, Malta and Africa is a DK Decals sheet for fighters that served outside Europe.
Responsibility details are not available.
On this sheet the Czech publisher DK Decals offers markings for aircraft from the Far East, Malta and North Africa. These are stand-alone decals for any Hurricane Mk.II kit in 1:72 scale; plastic parts are not included.
The Hurricane Mk.II with the Merlin XX engine was far more common on these distant fronts than in the night fighter role over England. The aircraft wore sand upper surfaces, usually a bulky dust filter under the nose, and prominent recognition markings, because the flying was done over desert, sea and jungle alike. The Mk.IIB had twelve machine guns, the Mk.IIC four cannons, and the two met in these regions.
The surface has to be glossy, otherwise a white haze stays under the film. Release the motif from the paper only once it floats in lukewarm water, settle it onto a dampened surface and press out the excess with a soft cloth. Add decal softener once it has started to grip, and then leave the area alone until the surface has hardened. Finally go over everything with a matte varnish so the edges disappear. On desert aircraft it also helps to add a light dusting over the finished markings.
Plastic parts are not supplied with the decal sheet.
