Supermarine Spitfire Mk.II TFace – mask 1:48 (Eduard)

This is a self-adhesive masking set from the brand Eduard for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.II fighter in 1:48 scale. The TFace rendition holds masks for the outside as well as the inside of the glazing, so the cockpit frames can be sprayed cleanly from both sides and a realistic look reached, without glossy frames from within. The masks are of kabuki tape; it is neither a model nor a decal.

The real subject

The Supermarine Spitfire was a British fighter, one of the symbols of the Battle of Britain. The Mk.II version followed on from the first production Spitfires with a more powerful Merlin engine and small changes. Its elegant elliptical wing and slender fuselage make the Spitfire a perennially popular subject.

• Stick the inner masks on before the cockpit is closed up and spray the interior color of the frames.
