1:48 F-14D Tomcat seatbelts STEEL are pre-colored seat belts of steel, which replace the flat harnesses molded on the seats of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory brings the crew's seat belts for a model of the Grumman F-14D carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The material is steel sheet, which the manufacturer supplies already colored, so that once formed the straps go straight into the seats. Behind them stands Eduard, a brand based in Obrnice in the Most district.
Steel sheet holds its form considerably more obediently than brass. A strap can be waved so that it looks loosely thrown over the edge of a seat, and it does not spring back flat. It is this detail that decides most with an open cockpit, because a viewer's eye goes to the seats first. The Tomcat also has its seats one behind the other, so the belts are seen twice.
The straps are first separated from their frame, then drawn between the fingers over the rounded tip of a pair of tweezers, which gives them a natural sag. The buckles and clasps are folded sharply over the edge of a steel rule. The joints are held by super glue applied in spots; PVA glues have not proved themselves on smooth metal. Finished harnesses will take a light wipe of pigment, which knocks back the unnatural sheen of the metal.
