The Grumman Hawkeye is a carrier-based early warning aircraft with a rotating radar disc above the fuselage and with split vertical tail surfaces that fitted under the low ceilings of carrier hangars. The designation E-2C with a plus refers to a later version of the machine; what exactly the set covers for that version is specified by the maker's instructions.

At such a small scale the instruments are at the limit of what can be painted by hand, so finished color elements save a great deal of work. You do not have to hunt for the shades or mix them, the element goes into place straight from the backing paper and carries its color with it. The list of the elements and the places where they are seated is given in the maker's instructions.
The SPACE elements have no adhesive layer of their own. They are not immersed in water; only the backing paper beneath them is moistened, and a damp sponge with a drop of dish soap is enough for that. Then lift the element with pointed tweezers and fix it in place with white PVA glue; the maker does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue. Do not use a decal softener, as it would attack the printed layer. Wash the surface, degrease it and let it dry perfectly. Lay the element in place and align its position before you press it down. Press it down with a soft cotton swab, gradually from the center toward the edges. With parts this small, good light and a magnifier pay off. Finish the cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together and fit the canopy.
The set is for a modeler who wants a well-equipped cockpit even in a small scale, without painting the individual dials. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the package unless stated otherwise.
