Decal sheets printed with lozenge for a model of the Fokker D.VII in the version built under license by Albatros, in 1:32 scale. The sheets are drawn for the kit that the product name abbreviates as WNW, that is Wingnut Wings. According to the designation, lozenge for the interior is included as well.
Lozenge is German covering fabric from the end of the First World War with a pre-printed pattern of irregular polygons. It replaced sprayed camouflage: the fabric was printed while still on the roll, so a machine got its camouflage together with its covering. Painting such a pattern on a model by hand is work for long winter evenings and the result is not even then regular, which is why it is still handled with a decal today.
These are classic waterslide decals. First varnish the area under them to a gloss; on a flat surface a decal turns white around the edges. Cut the sheet up into pieces to match the individual areas of the fuselage, soak a piece in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be moved on the backing. Draw it onto the model with a little water underneath, so that you have room to shift its position, and press the water out with a soft cloth from the center outwards. Over the ribs of the covering and the stitching use a decal softener, so that the film is drawn into the hollows and the pattern does not jump across them. Once dry, seal the whole surface with varnish according to whether you want the fabric flat or with a slight sheen.
The package contains decal sheets. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
