Die-cut masks of kabuki paper for the MiG-21PF model in 1:72 scale, cut for Eduard kits. The Basic level.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21PF is the interceptor version, which was to fly at night and in bad weather too. For that reason it received a radar housed in the cone in the center of the nose intake and, unlike the earlier machines, it lacks a built-in cannon; the armament consisted of guided missiles. The cone is noticeably larger than on the early versions and the forward fuselage has a fuller shape, so the PF is distinguished from the other MiG-21s at first glance.
The masks are cut from a thin self-adhesive paper that modeling calls kabuki. It holds just enough to be lifted off without damaging the paint, it conforms well to a slightly convex surface and it leaves no sticky residue on the clear parts once removed. Compared with building masks up from strips of tape it saves time above all where the framing of the glazing is divided into several small panes.
The set is cut for MiG-21PF kits from Eduard in 1:72 scale and is the Basic level; the manufacturer also makes the Advanced and Expert levels for the same aircraft. The extent of each level is stated by the manufacturer. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
