Responsibility details are not available.
A camouflage masking set from the Bulgarian brand DN Models. It is cut from a thin semi-transparent masking tape, which holds on the edge of a part, comes off without residue after spraying and will take repeated laying. Besides the large-area pattern it also contains the shapes of the national insignia, so the resulting coloring arises in paint, not by decal.
The Eighth Air Force needed to order hundreds of bombers into a single formation over Britain, and often in fog and low cloud. The task was given to worn examples withdrawn from combat duties, disarmed and painted over with a wild, highly contrasting pattern: stripes, checkerboards, circles or spots. The crews recognized them at a great distance. As soon as the formation was in order, such a machine turned back to base and flew no further over the continent. The nickname Spotted Ass Ape belonged to one of the best-known spotted Liberators.
Lay the large areas part by part and always start from the middle of a part toward the edges, so that the tape does not crease on the double curvature of the fuselage. First apply the lighter tone; after drying the mask and the darker layer come in turn. Press the edges down with your finger and polish them lightly with a toothpick, as otherwise the paint will run under.
