Painting masks for the digital camouflage and marking of the Bulgarian Su-25K and Su-25UBK in 1:32 scale. Three sheets of pre-cut masks cover the pixel pattern and the national insignia.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set of painting masks covers the pixel finish which the Bulgarian Su-25K attack aircraft and the two-seat Su-25UBK received after an overhaul. Besides the pattern itself it also contains the national insignia and fuselage numbers, so the whole marking can arise in paint instead of from decals.
The Su-25 came about as an attack aircraft for the direct support of ground units: an armored bathtub around the pilot, ten pylons and the ability to operate from improvised strips. Bulgaria took over the export version Su-25K along with the training Su-25UBK in the middle of the 1980s and after an upgrade kept the machines as the only strike component of its air force. It was precisely then that the digital finish appeared, which replaced the sharp transitions of classic camouflage with a mosaic of small fields.
This is a large-area camouflage set, which is applied part by part and in several color steps. It pays to proceed from the lightest shade to the darkest and to let each layer dry properly between passes. The material is a thin masking tape: it is semi-transparent, so it can be placed precisely, and with careful removal it leaves no traces. Because of the differences between the shape of the kit and the real aircraft, it is sometimes necessary to complete the masking with tape of your own.
