1:48 Tornado of the Royal Saudi Air Force - camouflage masks offer three sheets for the three-color desert scheme of the attack Tornado.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three sheets of pre-cut masks cover the striking scheme that the attack Tornados of the Royal Saudi Air Force carry. Against the gray European machines the pattern is unmistakable and on a model it acts as the main ornament. The cut is based on the 1:48 Revell kit of the IDS version.
Saudi Arabia became the largest export user of the Tornado outside Europe. Its attack IDS machines operated in coalition actions at the beginning of the 1990s and went through later upgrades of the avionics and armament. While the British and German machines moved to a uniform gray, the Saudi ones retained the intricate desert pattern with its warm shades.
A three-color scheme is built from the bottom up: the lightest tone over the whole airframe, then the individual fields are uncovered and covered. Lay the film along the axis from the wing root to the fuselage, so that the sharp edges do not overlap anywhere. With a model with movable wings choose one sweep position and finish the scheme in it, as otherwise the dividing lines on the leading edge will not line up. Let the finished airframe rest for a day and only then deal with the gloss intermediate layer under the decals. Patience here is repaid in the sharpness of the edges.
