Masks for the cockpit glazing and the wheels of the Mil Mi-24D helicopter in 1:48 scale, for the inner and the outer side. Intended for the Trumpeter 05812 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mil Mi-24D is a Soviet attack helicopter which, besides its armament, can also carry a group of soldiers in the rear compartment. The D version received a reworked forward section with two separate cabins one above the other and with heavily divided glazing. It is precisely this glazing that makes a model of the Mi-24D a job for several evenings: there are a lot of frames, they are narrow and they are hard to trim with adhesive tape. Yet a model without clean frames loses the face of its subject, because the cabins are the first thing a viewer sees on it.
The masks are cut according to the shape of the parts of one particular kit, so measuring out and trimming tape directly on the model falls away. The set covers the cockpit glazing on the inner and the outer side and the wheels with it. The inner masks make sense when the frames are painted on the inside too in the interior shade, which on such a heavily glazed subject is clearly visible. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the rim without tracing by hand with a brush.
The masks are supplied on their own. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The masks are tied to the Trumpeter 05812 kit; with another kit do not rely on the shapes.
