A set of masks for the cockpit canopy, the wheels and the EOTS sensor of the F-35B Lightning II aircraft in 1:32 scale contains two sheets with ready cutouts for both sides of the glazing. The set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pair of sheets covers the glazing of the canopy from the outside and the inside, the wheel rims, the outer window of the targeting sensor under the nose and the small lights. The cockpit frame of the F-35 is intricate and masking it with tape cut in place means an hour of fine work with a blade. Here you simply peel the shapes off the backing and press them down. The carrier is semi-transparent, so you see what a shape is lying on, and after spraying it comes off without deposits.
Under the nose of the F-35 sits the electro-optical targeting system, whose faceted window differs in color from the surrounding surface and on a model acts as a pronounced element; that is precisely why the set deals with it by a separate mask. Version B differs from the rest of the family in the lift fan behind the cabin and the swiveling nozzle, thanks to which it manages short takeoff and vertical landing from the decks of smaller ships.
The shapes are cut according to the Trumpeter kit in this scale and the cabin frames differ between various moldings even by tenths of a millimeter, so they are not universally usable. Insert the inner mask before closing the cabin, so that overspray does not get inside. It is advisable to polish the clear part before sticking it on and to protect it from fingerprints.
