The resin figure French Commando Kieffer Marching No.6 in 1:48 scale is assembled and painted by the modeler to suit the scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure walks at an easy pace with its weapon slung over the shoulder and the head turned slightly aside, so that in a column it looks natural and not like a repeated casting. The resin print has held even the thin straps and the pocket fastenings. The buyer receives one unworked figure that has to be separated from its supports.
Of the one hundred and seventy-seven men who fought their way off the beach on the morning of the sixth of June, around a quarter were out of action by the evening. By the end of the summer further losses passed through the unit and Kieffer himself was wounded in the first days. That is exactly why the battalion became a symbol of French participation in the liberation of its own country, and its members have a memorial site on the coast at Ouistreham where wreaths are still laid today. Commemorative events are held in the region every June.
A column looks alive when the figures do not stand in one straight line or at the same spacing. It pays to lay the line of march out beforehand, push a short wire pin into the feet and drill a hole in the base to match. The figures then hold firmly and can be lifted off at any time while the scene is being finished. Feel free to vary the spacing between individuals; it gives the column movement.
The delivery does not include anything for joining or painting.
