A mask for panels and hatches in 1:72 scale is a universal set of stencils for suggesting differently shaded areas on an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A universal set of masking stencils in 1:72 scale that is not tied to one particular type of aircraft. It serves to suggest panels, access hatches and differently shaded areas of the kind that arise on real machines through replacement of parts, repairs and different ages of paint. It is not a kit but an accessory for the build.
An evenly sprayed surface looks artificial on a model, because a real aircraft does not have two neighboring areas the same. Assembled panels differ in shade depending on when they were replaced and how long the sun has worked on them. It is exactly this irregular difference that makes a model convincing. The stencils let you spray it sharply and regularly where a sharp edge suits, unlike freehand spraying, which always blurs it.
First spray the base shade over the whole area. Then lay the stencil on and spray only a slightly different tone; the difference should be at the edge of visibility, otherwise the aircraft turns into a checkerboard. Use heavily thinned paint and more light coats. Take the mask off shortly after it has dried. At the end even the whole surface out with a very thin coat of the base shade, which damps down the unevenness.
