A sheet of punched masks, 1:72 T-2C Buckeye US Navy Painting mask from SX-Art, intended for painting the cockpit canopy of the American trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet from SX-Art carries pre-punched shapes for the cockpit canopy and its frames. The modeler only lifts them off, presses them down and sprays. On a two-seat trainer with a long canopy that saves a really large amount of time, because there are twice as many frames here as on a single-seat fighter.
The T-2 Buckeye was the basic jet trainer of the US Navy, on which students landed on the deck of an aircraft carrier for the first time. The T-2C version got a pair of jet engines and became the most widespread variant; it lasted several decades in training. The name Buckeye refers to the buckeye tree, the symbol of the state of Ohio, where the machine was built. Trainers wore striking high-visibility markings so that they could be told apart easily in the air and on the deck.
It is precisely with training schemes that the sharp dividing line between a deep orange and a white area decides. A deep orange shade covers less well than dark colors, so spray it over a light base and preferably in two passes. Mask the glazing before the primer coat goes on, so that the frame takes its color in the same layer as the surrounding area.
The set is a masking aid. The aircraft and the paints are not in it.
