The set contains one figure of a present-day Ukrainian soldier cast from resin. The brand BlackSnake Model is based in France and specializes in figures with a high degree of detail; this one belongs to an extensive Ukrainian line which runs in several sizes side by side. With the real subject around one hundred eighty centimeters tall, the assembled figure comes out at roughly eleven centimeters.
Omega is a special unit of the National Guard of Ukraine intended for counterterrorist operations, reconnaissance and support of the ground forces. Its members combine Western and home equipment, so on one figure you will meet a plate carrier, magazine pouches, a radio and joint pads. It is precisely this variety that makes the figure a rewarding object for painting, because there is nothing uniform about it.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the residues of mold release agent disappear from the surface; otherwise the base coat holds badly. Remove the casting blocks with a fine-toothed saw, not with nippers, which shatter resin. This size already allows the face, the eyelids and the cloth patches to be worked out, so it pays off to paint the torso and the head separately and to join them only at the very end.
The figure arrives unassembled and unpainted; paints and glue are not in the package.
