1:9 Ukrainian Soldier 05 is a large resin figure of an operator of the Omega response unit. It belongs to the Ukrainian line of the brand BlackSnake Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
From the fifth piece on, the Ukrainian line moves from the Azov Regiment to the Omega unit, which shows in the equipment and in the bearing of the body. Omega is a response unit of the National Guard of Ukraine intended for counterterrorist operations, reconnaissance and rescue operations; its members work in smaller groups and tend to be equipped more loosely than ordinary infantry. The figure is cast from resin in the large 1:9 format.
The sculptor worked with the tension of the moment before entering a room: the torso leaning slightly forward, the weapon close to the shoulder, the head following the direction of the advance. Low-profile pouches and a helmet with a headset predominate in the equipment, that is the items that allow rapid movement in an enclosed space. The detail stands out even on small things, such as the insignia on the sleeve or the tightened straps.
Start with a dark base in the folds and add the light gradually from above, because a figure this large stands up to more pronounced modeling of shadow than is used on small figures. Leave the metal parts of the weapon until the end and go over them with a graphite pencil; that way they gain a cold metallic gloss with no need for silver paint.
The manufacturer encloses no paints, no brushes and no base; the casting alone is supplied.
