The mask set Peewit 1:72 Bristol Superfreighter is an accessory for building a model of the British transport aircraft; with it you can paint the extensive glazing of the flight deck quickly and cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a kit but an accessory for the build: masking templates for a model of the Bristol Superfreighter transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. They are stuck on before spraying, lifted off once the paint has dried and leave a sharp edge where hand-cut tape can barely hold one. On a large transport aircraft with a high-set, richly glazed flight deck this is one of the most useful aids of all.
The Bristol Type 170 is a British twin-engine high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear, designed as a simple freight aircraft. It received large hinged doors in the nose, through which cargo including passenger cars was loaded straight into the fuselage, and it was in exactly this role that it flew on short routes across the English Channel. The Superfreighter is a later, lengthened and modified version of the basic type with greater capacity. The combination of a tall fuselage, a glazed flight deck and a straightforward structure makes the model a rewarding object for civilian as well as military finishes.
Before sticking them on, degrease the surface and make sure the paint underneath is hard. Press the mask down all the way round and with large areas work from the center out to the edges, so that no crease forms anywhere. Spray thinly, in several coats; on a transport aircraft with a large fuselage area a smooth and even finish matters more than speed. Lift the templates off shortly after the paint has set, pulling at an angle to the side.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
