A photo-etched metal set for the cockpit of a model of the L-29 Delfin jet trainer in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The L-29 Delfin is a two-seat jet trainer, the first aircraft of its kind developed in Czechoslovakia. It was built in large numbers from the 1960s and became the standard trainer type with the air forces of the whole of Eastern Europe and of many other countries. The instructor sits in the rear cockpit, which is set higher so that he can see forward over the student's head, and that makes the cockpit a prominent place on a model.
This is an add-on set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale aimed at the cockpit, as the designation interior says. The thin sheet metal allows a thickness and a sharpness of edge that a plastic part cannot reach. Which parts of the cockpit the set covers and in what order the parts are fitted is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Finish the cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together, because after that you cannot get into it. Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and make the bends along the marked grooves with flat tweezers. Bond with a tiny amount of super glue or with two-part epoxy, because cement for polystyrene will not join metal. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer. Cut off the plastic detail that the photo-etch replaces first and sand the surface smooth.
The set is for modelers who want the cockpit of the Delfin to be faithful even at close range and do not mind working with tweezers. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
