This resin detail set from the Czech brand LZ models holds sway chains and load binders for the Ward LaFrance M1 heavy recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale. It is an upgrade set rounding out the equipment of a model – the elements that served to anchor and stabilize a load and the crane gear.
The Ward LaFrance M1 was an American heavy recovery truck of the Second World War. In recovering and lifting heavy equipment, chains, load binders and anchoring elements were used to secure both the vehicle and the load against movement – and it is precisely these details that the set captures faithfully.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and clean them up; they are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Shape the chains suitably and arrange them on the model so that they look naturally loaded. We recommend a primer, an airbrush and finishing with washes and pigments for faithful weathering.
