A plastic kit of the American M8 and M20 armored cars in 1:56 scale, that is in the size common in tabletop wargames.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M8 was an American six-wheeled armored scout car of the Second World War with an open turret and a 37 mm gun. The British nicknamed it the Greyhound. It served chiefly for reconnaissance, where speed and range on the road counted rather than armor protection; the thin floor of the hull was its weak point. The M20 was based on the same chassis, lacked the turret and its open compartment served for carrying crews, for communications and for command.
It is a plastic kit in 1:56 scale, the scale used in tabletop wargames, so the model matches the figures of those games in size. The M8 and M20 designations in the name refer to both related versions built on a common chassis. The extent of the parts and the options for building the individual versions are to be found in the instructions supplied with the kit.
Separate the parts with cutters and clean the remnants up with a file or sandpaper so that the joints meet tightly. It is glued with modeling cement for polystyrene. Wash the model before painting and let it dry thoroughly; small models get held in the hand a great deal and grease from the fingers shows through a coat of paint. Primer works well, then the main shade and finally a dry brush on the edges, which in a small scale does more for the legibility of the shape than fine shading.
The kit suits players of tabletop games as well as modelers who want a smaller model without a long build. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
