In the set 1:32 Fw 190 A-6 masks for crosses the Omask brand offers masking templates which replace decals for the German national insignia.
Responsibility details are not available.
Omask has prepared these templates for the dimensions of the national insignia of the A-6 version in the large 1:32 scale. Thanks to them the modeler mixes a shade of his own, applies it over the masked surface and gets an insignia which is part of the paint layer, not a film stuck on top. The package contains templates only.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-6 appeared in the summer of 1943 and brought a redesigned, lightened wing structure. That carried four 20 mm cannons instead of the weaker weapons in the outer bays, which turned the aircraft into a genuine destroyer of four-engine bombers. It was from this version that the conversions with even heavier armament and cockpit armor followed, with which the close formations over the Reich were then attacked.
A German cross consists of a dark core with a white border, and in later periods simplified forms with mere outlines appeared as well. The order of spraying therefore decides the result: the light component goes on first, and once dry it is covered over and the dark one added. Between the steps it pays to give a coat plenty of time, because paint that has not dried tears when the template is peeled off.
