The German StuG III Ausf. G assault gun of early production in 1:35 scale with a buildable interior of the hull and the engine compartment.
Responsibility details are not available.
The plastic kit of the StuG III Ausf. G of early production from the brand Border Model belongs in the more demanding category. Besides the hull and the superstructure it holds a fitted-out fighting and engine compartment, photo-etched sheet for the fine detail and workable running gear. The tracks are link-and-length, and the hatches can be built open to reveal the interior.
The assault gun on the Panzer III chassis came about as infantry support, with its weapon in a low boxy superstructure without a rotating turret. The G rendition was built from December 1942 right to the end of the war and was by far the most widespread of the whole family. It carried the 75 mm StuK 40 gun with a long barrel, which let it destroy even medium tanks, so a support weapon effectively became a tank destroyer. You can tell the early examples by the angular bolted gun mantlet and by the Schürzen hung on frames.
The interior is painted and shaded before the superstructure is closed up, otherwise you can no longer get at it. Leave the running gear with the wheels separate for the sake of applying mud effects later. Assemble the tracks on a flat surface and shape them only once they have dried. A sand base coat suits the surface, over it stripes of green and brown and finally pigments on the lower areas.
The vehicle is supplied as parts on sprues, without paints and without glue.
