A plastic kit in 1:35 scale that combines the German 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun with figures of an army (Heer) artillery crew. It lets you build not just the gun on its own but a whole artillery scene with soldiers at the weapon. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the exact number of parts and decal options follows the instruction sheet enclosed in the box.
The PaK 40 (Panzerabwehrkanone 40) was the standard German 7.5 cm anti-tank gun, in service from 1942 until the end of the Second World War. It replaced the weaker 5 cm gun and its penetrating power dealt with the vast majority of Allied tanks of the day. It was fairly heavy and harder to move by hand, but all the more effective from a well-chosen firing position. The crew consisted of several gunners who handled aiming, loading and the supply of ammunition.
Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and assemble the gun so that the trails of the carriage and the barrel elevation stay movable. Lay a primer under the metal surfaces of the gun and spray with an airbrush; paint the figures from a muted base toward lighter layers on the faces and the equipment. Closing washes and pigments give both the gun and the uniforms a realistic patina of dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
