This is a springy foam masking insert from the express fit range by the Czech manufacturer Art Scale, in 1:32 scale. Unlike classic film masks it is shaped from soft foam and is placed straight into the wheel bays of a Spitfire Mk.IXc fighter model. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.
The foam insert reliably covers the inside of the wheel bays while the underside of the fuselage and the wings are sprayed. It adapts to the shape of the opening without damaging the surrounding detail or the paint already applied, and keeps the bay from being clogged with paint of another shade.
Compress the insert gently and slide it into the bay so that it fills the whole space. Spray in thin coats and lift the mask out carefully once the paint has dried. The foam is reusable and holds its shape, which pays off over several coats and when building more than one of the same model.
The set contains the foam mask only. The paints, the glue and the model itself are not included in the package.
