1:72 Vultee Vengeance - RAAF, RAF and USAAF

The real subject

The Vultee Vengeance was an American single-engine dive bomber built above all for British orders. It saw action mainly over Burma and in the southwest Pacific, where British and Australian squadrons used it; in American service the type was given rather secondary roles, among them training and target towing. It was a sturdy aircraft with a radial engine, a deep fuselage and dive brakes for the dive itself.

What the set offers

Decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of three air forces: Australian, British and American. A single sheet thus covers aircraft from different theaters, from camouflaged aircraft over Burma to American machines from training and support units. Which particular aircraft are on the sheet and how many there are is stated in the instructions included.

How to apply the decals

• Coat the spot under the decal with gloss varnish; on a matte surface air stays under the film.
• Cut the design out close to the edge and dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds.
• Let it rest for a while on a paper pad until it starts to slide freely.
• Slide the decal into place with a brush and draw the surplus water off with soft paper.
• On broken-up surfaces use a decal softener and let everything dry thoroughly, and only then seal it with varnish.
