An injection-molded plastic kit of a British military truck in 1:35 scale from Gecko Models. This new tooling covers the three-ton 4x2 type in the GS version with a wooden cargo bed. The box offers a detailed cab and engine compartment, photo-etched parts, a canvas tarpaulin over the bed and a choice of tire tread. Take the exact number of parts from the instructions in the box.
The Bedford OY was a line of British three-ton trucks of the late 1930s which during the Second World War formed the backbone of supply for the British and Allied armies. The GS version, standing for General Service, with its general-purpose cargo bed carried troops, materiel and equipment across every theater. Bedford vehicles were among the most reliable and most widespread British trucks of their day.
Build in subassemblies: finish and paint the engine compartment and the cab before closing them up. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). You will bring the wooden cargo bed to life with a base coat in wood shades and fine glazes. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; give the chassis and the fenders a patina with washes and pigments for mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
