About product

Snowman Model 1:700 Zeppelin of the P class (1910) with a 3D printed N500

This plastic kit in 1:700 scale captures the German Zeppelin airship of the P class of 1910. The package also holds a 3D printed model of the British N500 triplane. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and makes a striking subject from the beginnings of the aviation era.

The real subject

The P class was the first fully developed type of Zeppelin airship, still before the First World War. The real craft measured over 150 meters in length and used hydrogen as its lifting gas. For its day it stood out for good handling and became the basis for a whole series of further military airships. The additional British N500 triplane stands for the early aircraft of the period.

Building and painting tips

The large hull of the airship has smooth surfaces that you will appreciate with an airbrush. Clean up and fill the joints between the parts carefully so that the surface of the envelope reads as one piece. Wash the 3D printed triplane before gluing and separate it carefully from its supports. We recommend a primer on the ground and subtle shading of period colors.

Who the model is for

  • Collectors of aviation and airship subjects from the era before the First World War
  • Modelers in 1:700 scale looking for an unusual subject
  • Anyone interested in a combination of plastic and 3D printing in one box

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
