The Block 60 version came about on order for the United Arab Emirates and at the time it was built it was the most capable form of the whole type. It was given a radar with an electronically scanned array, a stronger engine and, above all, conformal tanks along the sides of the spine, which visibly broadened the silhouette of the machine. The two-seat version was not merely a trainer; the second man on board worked the systems on combat tasks. The first flight took place at the beginning of this millennium, and the sand coloring gave the machine its unofficial nickname.
The rear station is not a scaled-down copy of the front one. It has its own layout of displays, a different configuration of side consoles and a different field of view. At a reduction of 1:48 each of the two cockpits is around thirty-five millimeters long, which is precisely the size at which you can see inside under the glazing and at which an empty or coarsely painted station draws the eye at once. That is why the set brings both assemblies rather than one used twice.
The relief does the groundwork. The instrument bezels, the edges of the displays and the strips of the consoles stand out above the surrounding surface, so that in side light they cast a shadow and the cockpit gains depth. The color artwork is printed ready-made and accurate, which a hand cannot repeat at this size.
Paint the cockpit tubs in a dark base, let them dry thoroughly, seat the parts dry and only then press them down. The package holds decals only.
